July 31, 2011: Kanin Club lunch + Banapple Dessert

My family ate at Kanin Club in Ayala Triangle Gardens for lunch today. We ordered their besteller, Sinangag na Sinigang, which was basically Sinigang in “rice form”. The kangkong was cooked crispy kangkong style (deep-fried, kinda like tempura), the pork thinly sliced and the rice tasting like you’ve cooked it in Sinigang soup.

We also had Tinapa Rice, which was good because the smoked fish flavor wasn’t too overpowering. The Binagoongan was like lechong kawali but in Bagoong (fermented shrimp paste) sauce. It was good though I prefer our tender home-cooked binagoongan over it mainly because the meat without the sauce tasted ordinary.  We also had the Crispy Dinuguan, which was a rather interesting twist to dinuguan. We also ordered Kare-kare but I forgot to take a photo. It was goooood. I really love Filipino food!

We had dessert at Banapple where we ordered a Banana Starry-Berry Custard Cheecake and I had a cafe latte. It was a good way to end a delicious meal on a rainy Sunday afternoon :)

P.S. I’m hungry again!
